Unplug and Unwind
The benefits of not having an internet addiction and tips to help you unwind
Now a days everyone has their face in a screen, whether it’s a computer, cell phone or even a tablet. There are many problems that occur from isolating yourself in the world of technology. With these issues that technology causes, comes innovative ways to unplug and unwind.
Technology makes it easier to collect data and exploit people. Think about it, what does almost everyone own? A phone. If someone has the right computer knowledge, they could get ahold of any information that you store on your phone. Stress is another effect of technology, or more specifically: social media. Do you find yourself constantly scrolling through the depths of your favorite social media platform? Worried about accidentally liking an old friends post from 7 months ago? If you answered yes to any of these questions your electronic devices are stressing you out. Another major issue caused by technology is lack of sleep. The blue light in the screens of most technology could be the reason that you are lacking the sleep you deserve.
Before you throw away , know that there are ways to unplug from your electronics and relax.
1- Read a Book
There’s nothing like a good ol’ book. Instead of picking up your phone, pick up a book. I recommend the Harry Potter series, or maybe the Divergent series.
2- Limit Screen Time
In other words, don’t spend all day on your phone. Try to use
you phone as little as possible. I would limit screen time to only an hour at a time.
3- Spend Some Time Outdoors
Spending some time outdoors is a perfect way to get away from electronics and maybe even get active.
4- Plug your Phone in Away from your Bed
Let’s Face it, your phone is ruining your sleep. So, just keep it away from your bed. Don’t use it before you sleep.
5- Visit Friends
Take this time away from your electronic devices to visit friends. Of course you most likely just talked to them on your electronic devices, but take this time to go out and do something fun.
