The FIFA Confederation Cup

The FIFA Confederation Cup is a tournament between the holders of the regional championships, which are called the CONCACAF (North America, Caribbean, and Central America), UEFA (Europe and Russia), CONMEBOL (South America). CAF (Africa), ASF (Middle-East, Asia, Australia and the Island North of it), and finally the OFC (Fiji, New Zealand, other small Pacific Islands). These 6 teams are accompanied by the current FIFA World Cup Holder and the host country to bring a total of 8 teams in this mini world cup. If one country holds two ways to get into the tournament, such as if they have won the world cup and also the invitation from their continent, then the runner-up gets the invitation instead.

This tournament went from the 17th of June to the 2nd of July with a total of 16 matches being played.

This year Russia was the host, and with Germany being the World Cup Winner. The other 6 teams were Australia, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, and Cameroon.

The results of the finals are Germany - 1 and Chile - 0. As such, Germany came in first, then Chile, then Portugal, and finally Mexico at fourth place.

This is the first time Germany has won this tournament, with Brazil having won the cup the most, at a total of four times.
