Student VS. Staff Basketball Game

The students and the staff at JPEC were back at it again on Friday June 9th, this time, with a basketball game. In the first game it was the students: Andrew, John, Noah, Mathew, Liz, Daniel, Cole, Emma, Janet, Andrauh, Jordan, and Destiny VS. the staff: Mrs. Ortell, Ms. Shaw, Mr. Marowelli, Ms. Vanwarmer, Mr. Mohler, Ms. Romana, Ms. Shirk, Ms. Elfe, Doc B, Ms. Hillman, Mr. Llerena and Mr. Malmquist. For the first game, the students started off. However, the staff scored the first point. After half of the game, the students and staff were neck and neck with a score of 15-15. “The game was lit when it was tied,” commented Matthew Zipp, a CP student at JPEC, after the first half of the game.

The game concluded with the Staff on top with a score of 41-29 . The students watching had mixed feelings about this victory. Some cheered for the Staff, and others rooted for the students. The first game was great to watch, but there was still another game to come.

In the second game it was the students:Samantha, Adreanna, Zach, Corbin, Jahmon, Noah Dinverno, Lauryn, Jade, CJ, Malachi, Hassan, VS. the staff: Ms. Shaw, Mr. Llerana, Mrs. Sager, Mr. Marowelli, Ms. Vanwormer, and Ms. Hillman. In the first half of the second game, the students received two fouls. After the first half, the staff lead with a score of 11-9. After the Second game the Students came out on top with a score of 27-29 . It wouldn’t have been possible without the referee's, Lucas, Ron, Chase, Hasan and Brendan. The event was a fun experience that got students out of the classroom to have fun.
