Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Review

The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales, returns to be the fifth movie in the franchise. The plot revolves around an undead Spanish Naval commander trying to find and kill the protagonist, Jack Sparrow. While the protagonists try to get Poseidon's trident that will lift the curses of the sea. There are two new protagonists to the movie, Henry who is the son of Will Turner from the previous movies, and then there is Carina Smyth who is along for the ride, she is a scientist and helped guide her less intelligent peers. This movie is great if you don’t want to feel much or follow a super intensive plot. Again, the plot isn’t super important and you don’t really have to watch the earlier movies to understand the film. It has some more adult humor which comes from the the PG-13 rating nothing too bad though. It has some violence but there isn’t intensive blood and gore just drops of blood. It has less naval battles the the previous movies, with only three of four happening with some of them occurring in flashbacks. It seems very copy-paste, but I found it entertaining. The ending was very simple and predictable with it being a happy ending. I wouldn’t recommend the film to people who want to go watch a serious movie and take away something from it as well as younger children because of the mature content, but I would recommend it to someone who wanted to watch a light hearted movie and have a good time. I give this movie a three out of five.
