JPEC Holds it’s Own First Graduation Commencement!

This was the first graduating class of JPEC, a historic moment in JPEC’s history since it’s opening in 2013. The graduation commencement took place in the auditorium of the Potter Center. A very big and exciting place much like the event itself. The event was made for 10 students who graduated with a High School Diploma, free associate's degree, and having 44 plus college credits.

This Graduation holds very promising students here.

Alyssa Schultz graduated and is earning a certificate in cosmetology.

Hassan Ahmad graduated with an associated degree in general studies and is going to Princeton University.

Matelyn Yarbrough (16) is going to Siena Heights with an associated degree.

Noah Bertram (17) is graduating to Rochester University with 44 credits and is going to pursue a P.H.D in physics.

Bethany Walker (18) is attending Grand Valley University.

CJ Parmele (18) is attending Michigan career and technical institute.

Janay Miller (18) also graduated with an associates and is going to University of Nebraska Omaha.

Jonathan Robertson (17) going to Siena Heights with 48 credits.

Paige Curl, also (18) graduated with an associate's degree and is attending Eastern Michigan University.

Finally, but not last, Jo Koerkel (18) is going to Grand valley University with 56 credits.

As These students leave with a mark to their name, I would like to share some of their favorite memories at JPEC. Hassan’s favorite memories were the times hanging out with friends in the lounge. Noah’s favorite memories were of working on schoolwork in the library, while talking and hanging out with friends. Other’s liked things they did in class time, such as Bethany Walker who’s favorite memory was making a tree in Miss. Guthrie’s Econ class. All loved the exquisite opportunities JPEC provided, and all left with great optimism.

Each Graduate also had to choose their favorite quote, Jonathan Robertson’s favorite quote was from Winston Churchill, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” Hassan’s favorite quote is from Ron Paul “Taxation is theft.” Mately Yarbrough’s favorite quote was, “behind me is infinite power, before me is endless possibility, and around me is boundless opportunity.” All of these are optimistic quotes that represent a lot about each graduate. As the JPEC motto says, “It takes more than one feather to fly,” and this could not be more true.
