Friday, March 17, the College Preparatory at JPEC had the opportunity to come to school wearing their pajamas, to celebrate reading month. Students went to their capstone groups and took attendance, then began the fun.
Students participated in many reading month inspired activities such as creating book covers and decoding pictures to figure out book titles. During the day, the classes took breaks to read. The students were able to bring along pillows and blankets to be comfy throughout the day.
Before lunch in the morning, all of college prep met up in the gym and played games together. Such as relay races, team activities, and snowball stories (a writing game).
At 2:10, students chose between four movies based on books to watch. They could choose either Princess Diaries, Percy Jackson, The Last Song, or Middle School: The Worst Years In My Life. This day was a nice addition to March Reading Month, and all of the students at JPEC surveyed agreed that they had a good time.
