Beauty and the Beast Review
The romance fantasy fairy tale,Beauty and the Beast is now on the big screen. On March 17, 2017 (USA) the movie Beauty and the Beast, the Disney cartoon and fairy tale has been turned into a “live-action” movie starring Emma Watson as Belle (or Beauty) and Dan Stevens as the Beast. Also, Luke Evans is playing Gaston, the man who wants to marry Belle, and Josh Gad as LeFou, Gaston’s little cronie. The director of this new version of the story Beauty and the Beast, is Bill Condon. He is also the director of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part one and two.
A.O. Scott from The New York Times says, “It looks good, moves gracefully and leaves a clean and invigorating aftertaste. I almost didn’t recognize the flavor; I think the name for it is joy.” Also, from The Guardian, Wendy Ide explains, “Bill Condon’s live-action recasting of the Disney classic is ornate to the point of desperation.”
