New Game Announced in Legend of Zelda Franchise

Pull out your ocarina Legend of Zelda fans, because Link’s adventure is not over yet! Recently Nintendo announced a new Legend of Zelda game, titled “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” that is scheduled to release on March 3, 2017. The new game will be compatible with both the new Nintendo Switch, and the Wii U.

In this new game, players will be playing as the infamous character, Link, and will be on yet another journey in Hyrule to defeat Ganon. Nintendo states that this game will be very open-world, and players will make new discoveries about this universe.

Those who have played the game have stated that unlike previous installments in the franchise, this game has less of a specific guide, and involves searching for items by yourself, which is a breath of fresh air out of the nearly twenty games created.

According to the Legend of Zelda website, the new features that stand out in this game are different “Shrines” hidden throughout the map to unlock items, a new variety of outfits/equipment, more strategy-based enemy battles, and the use of amiibo characters. This game will be Nintendo’s final game for the Wii U, so many fans are both excited and anxious about the release. It’s HD appearance will hopefully live up to the expectations. This game has had a lot of hype, seeing they originally mentioned it’s creation in 2013.
