The Super Babies
Have you heard about Super Bowl babies? They happen every year after the Super Bowl. About nine months later the winning team’s supporting state/region receives a boost in population. This phenomenon is known as Super Bowl babies. This year it will likely happen in New England, due to the Patriots victory. In the past five years New York, Baltimore, Seattle, New England, Denver, and now New England, for the second time, have experienced this.
During the 2017 Super Bowl there was an advertisement about Super Bowl babies. The NFL’s marketing officer said “We think there will be some people who will say, ‘Wait, I was born in the October or November after my parents’ team won. Am I a Super Bowl baby?’” The reality of this is debated. Some say that a victory doesn’t affect birth rate at all; they say that this is just people seeing patterns where there are none. Both Hayden Dosser and Weston Brown say that they think that the occurrence of the Super Bowl baby is real.
