On September 26, the first of the Presidential Debates was held in New York City on NBC Nightly News. The debate consisted of six segments running around 15 minutes each. These segments were chosen by the moderator, Lester Holt, and the audience. They covered national security, immigration, business, foreign policy, and much more.
The candidates voiced their opinions. Each answer gained or lost the approval of the audience. Clinton voiced her opinions based on the lower class, while Trump voiced his opinions on business and generals.
The debate proved to be powerful in raising or lowering the candidate’s stances with the people. Clinton took the lead with women and non-white voters, while Trump took the lead with men and white voters.
Overall, the debate proved to be challenging for both of the candidates. In the end, the results proved that Clinton was the true winner that night. However, they claim that the debate was close in the end, but Clinton managed to beat out her challenger.
The next of the debates between Clinton and Trump will be held October 9th with the same challenging atmosphere of the previous one.
