Mrs. Shirk specializes in several categories of art. These specialties consist of ceramics, printmaking, and sketching. Mrs. Shirk’s favorite style of art is set in the baroque period. She has greatly made artwork that has been in galleries throughout New England.
Aside from creating, Mrs. Shirk loves to teach and engage with her students. When asking her about this her remarks were,“I really like to see what my students create.I also love to talk to them about art”.
In her free time, Mrs. Shirk loves to practice yoga, grow organic vegetables, painting, and spending time with her daughter. Mrs. Shirk first became interested in being a teacher when she was younger. “I really loved being a student. I wanted to continue to study art, and I wanted to continue to have conversations about art. I like working with kids in the art room because it’s inspiring to all of their individual artistic styles, and hear their thoughts and opinions about what we study.” remarked Mrs. Shirk.
The students love her. “She’s a really nice teacher, greets students in the hallways, and is a really fun teacher!” Remarked Kayce. Mrs. Shirk will make a great new addition to the JPEC falcon community.
