JPEC held its first annual “Pops on the Lawn” Concert on Tuesday, June 7th at 6:30 p.m. The concert featured the Jazz band, the Advanced band, and the Intermediate band. The two choirs, both advanced and beginning, also made an appearance. JPEC’s music department put on a spectacular show, performing popular songs such as “All About That Bass,” and “Counting Stars.” There were a few older songs such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Lean on Me,” there was a little bit of Star Wars included too. The concert had a great turnout, and many parents were impressed. There was even a small group of college students that were spotted watching and listening to the performance. The enthusiasm of the audience was contagious, and many students and family members were singing and dancing along to the arrangements. The soulful and youthful voices of the soloists were very impressive to all. The talent and dedication could not be forgotten, Mrs. Ortell, the musical director, awarded many students for their phenomenal participation. Families and falcons alike cannot wait for another concert!
